Last month at the tender age of 99, Harold Percival, a veteran of Bomber Command in WWII passed away. The local obituary stated that no close family members would be able to attend his funeral and that it would be a great honour if former service personnel could possibly attend.

Little did they know that this small write up would capture the hearts of hundreds of people and would spread throughout the world via the Twitter machine. What was originally assumed to be a quiet gathering for Harold turned out to be a highly regarded event, supported by the masses.

People swarmed to this event in support for the veteran and the impact can be felt globally. Strangers coming together to support a man who will never realize how much he was cared for, but the compassion will be appreciated by millions of people who get the chance to read this article.
