My Favourite Answers To The Question, “What Makes You Happy?”

A common life goal that is planted in our minds from a young age is to seek ‘happiness’, the grand goal of enlightenment that will make our lives worthwhile (or so we think). We presume there to be a certain path out there that will lead us to this epic realization. At this point the clouds will part and horns will blare in recognition of our arrival. The general consensus for happiness for many people revolves around financial success, family closeness and the acquisition of possessions, but those visions are generally more longterm plans. What about our ability to experience happiness on a day to day level? We found that people’s opinion on what makes them happy in a typical week can vary greatly and have shared with you some of our favourite answers.
“So, what makes you happy?”
Getting to be the first person to break the seal on the jar of peanut butter after bringing it home from the store…..Pop!!
Just destroying my friends at Call of Duty on Xbox Live!
Nothing puts a smile on my face more than fresh socks, a brand new pair right out of the package!
When a song comes on the radio that I haven’t heard in years and reminds me of a pleasant memory of my past.
Having the woman I love massage my head. My eyes roll in the back of my head and I start to drool!
Recognizing that my happiness isn’t dependant on someone any more =)
In all honesty….Fellatio !! (Naughty honest boy, he was)
An ice cold beer with my Monday Night Football game!
Meeting strangers and having really deep conversations about life knowing that I will probably never see this person again, but the experience has really touched my life in a magical way.
Massive amounts of Endorphins…. some times chemically induced!
Pulling perfectly golden brown cookies out of the oven and sinking my teeth into the chewy goodness!
Smiling at strangers on the street for no apparent reason and seeing them come to life. Some times they carry a look of awe and appreciation after the interaction and some times they smile back in the biggest confusion, because they think they forgot who I am and start to try to remember who I am or my name.. Really pulls people out of they own head, I love it!
Coming home from work knowing my dog is going to greet me with the highest level of excitement, just like the first time I saw him! I know, I know, try not to say awe!!!
Starbucks in the morning… That stuff is liquid crack… Can’t go without my morning Joe!
Walking down the street and a pretty girl smiles at you. This sense of validation really lights me up…. Next step being man enough to talk to her!
What experiences do you look forward to every week ?
