Use These Five Minutes Of The Day To Change Your Life

The mind is most definitely a terrible thing to waste, and this world almost encourages us to do just that. We remain unplugged from the present moment in exchange for loud mental chatter that pretends it is keeping you safe and sound with precautionary anticipation. This diversion from the present and internal preparation for the worst to come is far from a safety tactic, creating nothing but dis-ease and stress hormones.
Your subconscious mind is most comfortable when you are unconscious. In the sleep state your subconscious mind is alive and well, busy at work, but it needs to be fed and fuelled. It is vital that last few minutes before you fall asleep every night that you prepare your mental marinate. What instructions do you want to be sealed in your mind as you drift off into slumberland?
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night,
When deep sleep falls upon men,
While slumbering on their beds,
16 Then He opens the ears of men,
And seals their instruction.(Job 33:15-16 NKJV)
Most people use the last five minutes of their day as they are about to enter into sleep to review all the things that they don’t like, all the things that didn’t work, all of the people that hurt their feelings, and all of the stuff going on in their lives they want to resist. This is their worry time, this is the time when we could be giving thanks and planning for our beautiful futures, but we prime ourself with all sorts of garbage and then drift off into sleep with these toxic thoughts at the forefront of our minds. Is this what God would want you to have sealed in your heart and mind to marinate on for the next 7-8 hours? I’ve yet to shake the hand of any deity yet, but my guess is they would recommend steering clear from this mental strategy.
Your subconscious mind is listening to what flows out from you into the universe, as you ask the high heavens to provide you with what it is that you constantly ruminate on day after day. If you fill your subconscious mind with all the things that you don’t want, that you don’t like, that make you unhappy, that make you depressed, and that make you worry, then your subconscious (which is impersonal) says complies. Remember it can’t make the distinction between what you are feeling as a results of what you have placed in your mind, versus what is actually taking place in your life. It doesn’t distinguish one from the other. It’s totally impersonal, and just remains open to suggestion.
If you program your subconscious mind to tell yourself to go over all the things you don’t want, all the things you don’t like, all the things that shouldn’t have happened, and all the ways you were mistreated you are really priming your mind for sickness and failure. We will live in a fear based world. You need to shift away from that, and use the last five minutes of your day to program your subconscious mind with the positive things you have placed into your imagination.
I want nothing to do with typical negative messages we often tell ourselves before sleeping. When I say I am sick, I am poor, I am unhappy, or I am unlucky and they are sealed in my mind while I’m sleeping, it’s no wonder I wake up feeling grumpy and tired. I’ve told myself the world is a nasty place before I close my eyes and my subconscious mind smiles says, OK. When you wake up in the morning, it’s no wonder you say “oh God it’s time to get up.”, instead of what you need to be saying, “God, thank you for this morning!” and look out into your day with potential and thanks.
Look to your thoughts as a currency of exchange. Imagine if I were to give you money to go out and buy whatever you want, but you went and unconsciously spent the money on things you don’t want, then when you arrived home from the mall and wondered why your house and your life is filled with things you don’t even want, you might feel pretty frustrated and down on your luck. Why would you take the currency I gave you and spend it on things you didn’t want? Many would class this kind of decision making right up there with insanity, but this is exactly what takes place in our mind.
Recognize that anything that you want to attract or create for yourself in your life begins with what you have placed in your mind’s eye, and then assume the feelings associated with that wish being fulfilled. Like many things that tend to be lasting in life must be regularly practiced.
Most people are just not willing to do what it takes to clear their subconscious minds, because this process can sometimes take years of undoing. I was astonished to find out just how much unwiring and deprograming that needed to take place in my own life. Its always there. These negative thoughts and beliefs I carried with me everywhere I went were always on.
You are a creator. The feeling which comes in response to the question, how would I feel were my wish realized, is the feeling which you need to hone in on and regularly mobilized into your attention. You need to see the wish fulfilled already in advance, and call those things which do not yet exist as though they do.
Therefore I tell to you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24 ESV)

September 7, 2017 #1 AuthorThis is a great concept. I have never thought about it in this way before. I can however honestly say that clearing my mind before bed each night definitely helps me to get a better sleep.
Would you recommend a period of mediation before bed? Or prayer? What are some good things to focus on as we try to calm our mind and think more positive thoughts?
