The decision to attend post secondary education can be very taxing, and one really has to question the merits of the diploma that they are chasing after prior to making the leap. No school is going to give you the no-bullshit truth of what needs to be considered prior to applying to their school, because they are a business first and foremost. Nor will they emphasize the high degree of probably that you might not even land a job in your selected field to begin with. They probably won’t even give you the simple calculation that we all need to remind ourselves of before sending in that application = The loss of your annual wages, minus the loan payment(with massive interest) that you will have to pay on a typical $40,000 they want you to start making payments on 6 months after you graduate, minus the potential loss in seniority that many companies value more than pieces of paper when it comes to your pay grade. I would never EVER tell people to avoid furthering their education, because it is a cornerstone to life, but people need to be armed with the facts.
The team over at NigaHiga put together a parody video to capture the choke-hold that many colleges put their students in year after year.
