Many of you not old enough to remember the old “Your Brain On Drugs” video, and don’t understand the connection between the title picture of a fried egg, allow Wikipedia to explain.
This Is Your Brain on Drugs was a large-scale US anti-narcotics campaign by Partnership for a Drug-Free America (PDFA) launched in 1987, that used three televised public service announcements (PSAs) and a related poster campaign.
The campaign was caused a massive hype that played to our senses. The commercial stated “this is your brain on drugs” and then showed an egg frying in a pan. Although completely ridiculous, the public still ate it up. Proving once again the power of ignorance and propaganda in this world. It was used to enforced a political vision that enabled enforcement agencies to take unlawful action towards a lot of very innocent people, that only on rare occasion were of caucasian descent.
