Lucas Patchett and Nicholas Marchesi Help The Homeless Stay Clean

Lucas Patchett and Nicholas Marchesi started a not for profit laundry service that goes out to the areas hard hit by poverty in Brisbane, Australia to put their own spin on lending a helping hand to the less fortunate. They drive around to certain areas of town and offer free clothe washing services to people through a well equipped van . Can you imagine living life with clothes that never get regularly washed and how that might get in the way of you moving forward in life, not to mention the impact it would have on your sense of worth? I think this is just a brilliant step to helping people get back on their feet from poverty. Many people think about providing health packs, or volunteering at soup kitchens when it comes to helping out the less fortunate, but this outside of the box thinking will might really help plant the seed for other people to lend a helping hand.
Orange Sky Laundry is run by volunteers ranging between the ages of 18 – 30 year old who are keen help people in need. Feel free to visit their website to find out more about their project and how you can get your very own community wash van up and running. Well done Lucas and Nicholas, well done!
