わたしのチイサナココロ [i have a small heart] is a short documentary following the steps of one woman’s journey along the Kumano Kodo in Japan on her spiritual quest. This pilgrimage is quite well known, and one of only two Unesco World Heritage pilgrimage sites in the world.
‘I have belief in God. But not all of the time,’ Megumi Ueno admits, something many of us might shy away from openly admitting, but can completely relate to. The path to God is far from linear, and neither are the steps to the Kumano Kodo, a sacred pilgrimage route in Japan’s Kii Mountains. This spiritual route has been travelled by Shintos and Buddhists for more than a millennium.
The commentary she makes while going through this short documentary is almost ASMR-like, and quite insightful. I thoroughly enjoyed this narrative, and hope you do too!
