Imagine if you were diagnosed with some disease that needs immediate pharmaceutical intervention or else your life could be potentially at stake. Then consider you are only making $40,000 a year, like millions of other Americans, and don’t think you would be able to afford the extra $180 a month that the medication is going to run you. After your car payment, mortgage payment and groceries, you only have a couple hundred dollars left to feed yourself and put gas in your tank, let alone have money for socializing with friends.
