This has been a rather stressful year, but this too shall pass. One of the ways I have learned to lessened the hard hitting blows of stress is by meditating regularly. I have always been a very high-strung individual, so self-care is mandatory something I take very seriously. Over the years I have developed a combination of habitual practices that I consider vital for my well-being.
As a fun way to connect with the reader, I thought I would pass on my Insight Timer username. You can connect with me on the app and we can keep each other accountable in our own practices. It is free to use and download for both Android and iOS, and the selection is very impressive. If you look through my recent activity on the app, you will see that I usually stick to the guided meditations. I’ve found that guided meditations to be much easier to stay on task and focused than basic timed meditations.
For those of you who have used the Headspace meditation app, it will be an easy transition for you that will cost you only your time. This is an easy way for us to not only better ourselves, but the world we interact with daily. Feel free to shoot me a message and let me know about your own meditation journey.
I have lost a lot to the practice of meditation, and hope you experience the same degree of loss that I had to go through. Losses like: Not having the opportunity to swear at people in traffic. Considerable less time laying in bed sleepless. Far few panic attacks. On some days I might even say I have gained small windows of serenity and peace. But let’s be honest here, fear of loss is a far better motivator than any potential gain!
I look forward to sharing a few moments of loss with you this week (:
